Position – Preschool Teacher Assistant

Brown School, an independent school located in Schenectady, NY is searching for a preschool teacher assistant for the 2021/22 school year.

Job Description

• Teacher assistants work closely and cooperatively with the lead teacher
• Assist and monitor children during snack and lunch times
• Engage with children during free-exploration activities
• Assist with the preparation of daily lesson plans
• Help maintain a safe, clean, stimulating and visually appealing learning environment
• Display a commitment to diversity and creating a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning, as they are recognized and valued by Brown School

Qualifications

• An associate’s degree, in early childhood education, is preferred
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive and effective classroom management skills
• Experience working with preschool children in a classroom setting
