After School Program at Brown School
Brown School is currently looking for motivated and hard working individuals with a passion for working with children to work in our after school program as a counselor. The program runs Monday-Friday from 2:45-5:30* for students in Nursery-8th grade.
The children are split into 3 groups that include:
Nursery-Pre-k Kindergarten-2nd grade 3rd-8th grade
The responsibilities of the AfterSchool counselor include:
- Interacting, playing and
assisting the students
- Counselors working with students in grades 3-8 will also oversee a homework hour and can help students as needed.
- Communicating positively with parents when they come to pick up their children and assuring every child is signed out as they leave.
- Assisting with various arts and crafts projects and bringing kids to different enrichment activities within the school.
- We are also always looking for individuals with a special talent or skill that they may want to teach to the children (music, art. etc…)

Brown School is located in Schenectady, New York close to Mohawk Commons.
Our counselors start off making $11.10 per hour. Brown School also offers at 2% match when employees enroll in our 401K program.
Counselors can work as often as they would like. We will work around your availability. You are not required to work every day and you can even work one hour shifts if necessary. No prior experience is required.
