Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees determines school policy, which is implemented by the Head of School, the administration, teachers and staff. The Board also has responsibility for the financial health of the school. All Board members are volunteers. Many are from the Brown School community; however, some are not, and their perspective is also highly valued.

Weston Griffin

Weston is a principal mechanical engineer at GE HealthCare’s Technology Innovation Center in Niskayuna, NY, specializing in mechatronics and machine design for healthcare applications. He received his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University, and his masters and doctorate degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.  

Weston and his wife Andie are parents to three former Brown School students who started in nursery and pre-K and attended through 8th grade, his son graduated in 2022 and his twin daughters graduated in 2023

Trisha Cornwell

Board Member Since 2025

Trisha Cornwell was born and raised in the Capital Region. She is the founder and CEO of Capacity, a social impact consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, executive coaching, and fractional operational support for non-profit organizations and philanthropic foundations across the country.  

She started her career as a 5th grade math teacher in the Houston Independent School District through Teach For America. After her time in the classroom, she served as the district’s Director of Talent, the Head of Communications and Marketing for YES Prep Public Charter Schools, and most recently, the Executive Director of EMERGE, a 7MM non-profit college access and success organization specializing in connecting first-generation college students to the nation’s top colleges and universities.  

She holds an undergraduate degree in Advertising from The Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and a graduate degree from the Jones School of Business at Rice University.
She is the proud mother of a Brown School Pre-K graduate and currently resides in Niskayuna, NY with her daughter.

Sarah Horaczek

Sarah Horaczek is the Principal for Big Picture Schenectady High School for the Schenectady City School District. Sarah has been an educator for 23 years in private, public, and charter school settings. During her career she has worked as a teaching assistant in special education, a K-8 teacher in New York City and Menands, an Instructional Technology Integration Specialist, a K-12 Principal, and a Director of Special Education and Student Support Services. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership through the University at Albany. Both of her children attended Brown School and her daughter, now 18, still has the musical bird that was a gift from her Brown School preK teacher on her car’s dashboard!

Dr. David Lin

David was born and raised in China. He came to the U.S. to pursue advanced study in 1997. He obtained a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from George Washington University in 2001. He has since worked on research and development of advanced sensors and microsystems at multiple companies.

Dr. Lin is currently employed as a Principal Engineer at General Electric Aerospace Research, Niskayuna. He is passionate about innovations that bring positive impact to people's lives. David lives in Latham with his wife, an applied mathematician at GE Research, and their 14-year-old son, who attended Brown School.

Marna Redding

Marna graduated from Gettysburg College where she majored in psychology and graduated with her Master of Science from Miami University (OH) in Higher Education Administration. She has over 20 years experience as a fundraiser, currently serving as the Chief Development Officer for American Camp Association. She lives in Niskayuna, NY, with her family. Her children attended both Brown School and its summer camp. Marna is a graduate of an independent school and believes strongly in the academic excellence afforded at Brown School.

Dino Sciocchetti

Dino graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and worked for an international Heavy Civil contractor in Buffalo, and Boston where he was involved in the renovation of a powerhouse along the Niagara River and construction of a portion of the Central Artery Tunnel, more commonly referred to as “the Big Dig.”  During this tenure, Dino held various positions from field engineer, to shift supervisor to project manager.  In 2001 he moved back home to be closer to family where spent 21 years working for AJS Masonry as its COO before leaving in 2022 to pursue other ventures.  Dino currently works for Enfield Enterprises out of Springfield, MA in their NY office focusing primarily on Government work at the Knolls and Kesselring Naval Nuclear sites.

Dino has strong family connections to the school.

Tina Chericoni Versaci

Tina Chericoni Versaci is the Secretary of the Brown School Board of Trustees and has been a member of the Board of Trustees for 3 years. Prior to joining the Board of Trustees, Tina was an active volunteer at the Brown School, as a parent of three children who attended the school from ages three through 8th grade, from 2004 to 2021.  During her years as a parent volunteer, Tina chaired the Gala Committee, Online Auction Committee, Ski Club and was the parent liaison for the school plays and costumes.  

Tina graduated from Providence College in 1993 and earned her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School in 1996, where she was a member of the Albany Law Review.  She practiced at the law firm of O’Connell and Aronowitz from 1996 until 2011 where she was a Partner in the firm’s litigation department.  During this time, Ms. Versaci’s practice focused on Plaintiff’s personal injury litigation including medical malpractice and products liability cases. In 2011, Ms. Versaci left the firm of O’Connell and Aronowitz to stay home with her three children.  

Tina currently works as Executive Director of the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association where she works with Federal Court Judges and federal practitioners to provide continuing legal education programs and other services to the federal bar.  She also sits on the Board for SUNY Schenectady, where she led the search for the College’s President that culminated in the appointment of Dr. Steady Moono. the SUNY Schenectady Foundation and the Schenectady County Public Library.  Tina’s husband is Schenectady County Surrogate Court Judge and Acting Supreme Court Judge, Vincent W. Versaci. They live in the City of Schenectady with their three (3) children, Caroline (24), Rosemarie (22) and Michael (18).

Michael Woodry

Michael is a quality engineer for the GE Renewables Onshore Wind Turbine business. Prior to working at GE, Michael held process engineering and quality leadership roles at Momentive and Saint Gobain.  He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and from the University of the South with a Chemistry degree.Michael is the proud parent of two alumni from Brown School. Both started nursery at Brown School and graduated as 8th graders.
